Mucking Out
We have to muck out the donkey pens after the donkeys have slept in them.
We separate the clean straw from the mucky straw and remove the poo.
We put the muck in bins and take it to the poo trailer. Then we use our little tractor to take the trailer to the bunker where the poo is left to rot down.
The poo warms up, steams, gives off ammonia and turns into fertilizer. Then it can be put back onto the fields to make the grass grow.
