Barry's Garage

This shed was once like the main stable, with wooden partitions, mangers and hayracks and a hayloft above, and a stone front wall with windows.

In the 1960s everything was taken out and new brick pillars were built to hold up the roof. The floor was concreted over and a wooden front was put on to make the shed larger so that a greengrocer's lorry could be parked in it.The greengrocer delivered vegetables to Clovelly and the surrounding villages.

After that a village builder, Barry, had the shed for a store and workroom. Now he has retired and passed it back to the donkeys. HOORAY !!

Looks as if we've got a lot of work to do though.................
